The Cloud Strategy Group aims to build a shared cloud ecosystem for European Public Service Media. It helps EBU Members collectively tackle the challenges and opportunities of cloud adoption, by both strengthening cooperation between Members and influencing the cloud market.
In 2025 it developed a shared strategic direction (see EBU Technical Report 099) so that PSM organisations can make informed, future-proof decisions that strengthen their independence, with freedom of choice as a guiding principle and a target of turning collaboration into a tangible operational advantage by 2028.
The work is organised around four Strategic Beacons:
1. Cloud-First: a hybrid model balancing performance, security and cost;
2. Proactive Sovereignty: operational and data independence through compliance;
3. Partnership Advantage: a collective voice for cloud-native, optimised vendor solutions;
4. Common Services and Shared Solutions: Member-driven frameworks and shared capabilities.
The EBU Cloud Strategy Group is open to strategists and tech leads at EBU Members.
