After successful testing of the Sony F65 workflow and equipment, the EBU Beyond HD group has started shooting the first test sequences in UHDTV 4K at 50 frames per second. A team of experts from RAI, EBU, Sony and DVS has produced table top shoots under different light conditions, with several focal lengths and camera sensitivities.
The sequences are being recorded in the F65 RAW format and transferred to the DVS Clipster for a first post-processing. Final post-processing will be handled by TPC in Zurich.
Today, 13 June, sequences featuring the actors from a well-known Italian children's television show will be generated. Thus movement can be evaluated as well as a wider field of depth. Tomorrow as the sun rises an early morning outdoor shoot in the parks of Turin will take place, again with actors and the support of a great interdisciplinary team. Fingers crossed for good weather!
