The EBU Metadata Community's Group on automatic information extraction (SCAIE) will organise a workshop at ACM Multimedia, the world's most important conference on multimedia processing.
The primary objective of the workshop is to evaluate and explore the use of automated information extraction techniques to support future media production.
Third edition
| The workshop is the third in a row. The first was organised in conjunction with DEXA 2008, the second together with WIAMIS 2009. The aim of the workshop is to foster the exchange of ideas and practises between leading experts in research and leading actors in the media community, in order to help migrate towards new ways of producing media content, facilitated by the large scale introduction of automated multimedia analysis tools. | |
The workshop should also help researchers to better understand the real-life requirements for their scientific developments to be more widely adopted. The ultimate goal is "metadata made cheaper".
