The third edition of the International Workshop on Automated Information Extraction in Media Production (AIEMPro 2010), has taken place on 29 October in a sunny Florence, in conjunction with ACM Multimedia, the yearly premier conference on multimedia technologies. The workshop included 12 technical papers spanning on the whole range of technologies, processes and practices relevant in media production and broadcasting.
Organised by RAI, VRT-medialab, EBU Technical, NHK and ICSI the workshop proceedings focused on four key areas: content representation, archive indexing and retrieval, news production automation and audiovisual content analysis. Regular papers have been complemented by a keynote speech about the CONTENTUS project. Full papers are downloadable from ACM Digital Library, and the given presentations will be posted on the EBU Technical Website soon.
In the closing remarks, AIEMPro General Chair Alberto Messina (RAI) thanked all the participants and presenters for having contributed to an extremely successful and future-looking workshop, expression of a community where practical on-the-field requirements and cutting-edge technologies have finally found a place where to meet and give fruitful outcomes.
