EBU Forecast goes parallel

Once again the Forecast programme committee has assembled a strong set of presentations dealing with many of the important broadcasting topics of today. In a break with tradition, spectrum issues will be covered on the first day, with systems issues dominating the second day’s presentations.

Day 1

The morning of the first day will feature sessions devoted to three topics linked with the use of radio frequency spectrum:

• Switchover – experience and best practice,

• Spectrum regulation and the digital dividend, and

• the Future of Radio.

The afternoon sessions have been arranged as three parallel workshops each examining one of the morning topics in greater detail. Participants at each of the workshops will be encouraged to question in depth the presenters and other experts attending, and ensure that they gather maximum benefit from the day, to assist them in their own specialist activities when they return home.

Day 2

The second day will explore the growing experience of new delivery systems:

• HDTV technology update,

• Internet TV and Radio,

• Mobile TV and Digital Terrestrial TV, and

• Consumer issues on new Radio and TV systems.

As usual the formal presentation and workshop sessions will be supplemented with plenty of opportunities for active discussion and less formal networking outside of the meeting rooms in the breaks and evening receptions.

EBU Members should receive an invitation this week. For more information, contact Nicole Frey.
