Swiss broadcast provider tpc will be showcasing the world’s first all-IP OB truck based on the SMPTE ST 2110 standard at the EBU’s Production Technology Seminar, 29-31 January 2019 in Geneva.

The OB truck’s production infrastructure, which is built entirely with ST-2110-based components, carries uncompressed UHD signals and supports data rates of up to 100Gb/s. This frees the provider from having to commit to specific compression algorithms.

Making the investment as future-proof as possible was one of the company's key goals when it commissioned its "UHD1" truck. tpc, a subsidiary of Switzerland’s SSR SRG, is also one of the country’s leading broadcast service providers, managing several TV studios and handling productions for the Swiss and global markets.

The UHD1 truck will be parked outside of the EBU’s headquarters in Geneva on 30 January, the second day of the EBU Production Technology Seminar 2019, and tpc's Andreas Lattmann will be sharing insights on the project in a presentation at the conference. Forming one of the event’s technology demonstrations, the truck will be open for inspection to PTS participants during the afternoon and evening.

PTS 2019 offers an extensive line-up of speakers and demonstrations on leading-edge technologies poised to change content production. For more information and to register, visit the PTS 2019 website.
