Scope
The Virtual Production group brings together EBU Members exploring LED wall-based virtual production and real-time CG animation for broadcast and content creation. Virtual production technologies — in which physical LED volumes replace traditional green screens and allow real-time rendering of virtual environments — are being adopted across the media industry, including in public service media. Our group shares knowledge on the technical and production workflow challenges involved, helping Members evaluate and implement virtual production approaches appropriate for their contexts.
Objectives
We help Members understand the capabilities, costs, and workflow implications of virtual production systems and technologies. We share practical experience from Members who have worked with this technology, identify common technical challenges, and develop guidance that helps organisations make informed decisions about virtual production investment and adoption.
