The EBU organised a one-day Loudness Workshop for broadcasters to learn what EBU R 128 Loudness monitoring and levelling is all about and how it can be implemented by broadcasters. The event was organised by the EBU PLOUD Group, which created the EBU R 128 Loudness recommendation and related specifications (EBU Tech 3341, EBU Tech 3342, and EBU Tech 3343).
Hands-on
The Workshop's programme consisted of a presentations part, which included a live mixing session and a 'walk-around' part, in which participants saw loudness products that have implemented 'EBU Mode' loudness metering . Special loudness mixing sessions were also organised for mixing engineers attending the event.
