This roundtable brings together industry practitioners to explore the transformative potential of AI for accessibility use-cases in media services.
Beyond operational enhancements, the roundtable examines how AI influences innovation, from designing more inclusive services to enabling personalized experiences. The goal is to move past the narrow lens of automation and towards a more nuanced understanding of AI as a catalyst for reimagining accessibility features for broadcasters.

Anastasiia Sirotina (SWR) - SWR's AI development department is working together with the accessibility team to develop, test & integrate AI tools into the accessibility workflows. The focus was on developing innovative solutions for subtitle production that can ideally be used by all ARD broadcasters. Anastasiia will present the current status of their work in the following areas:

Professor Sabine Braun (University of Surrey) - AI Generated AD Project. This project, commissioned by RNIB, explored how AI could be used to generate AD for factual content, and what that meant for quality, creativity and viewer experience. It engaged blind and partially sighted audiences and highlighted where human input remains essential.
