HDR Monitor Tests 2024-2025

Tech Report 081

The EBU Video Systems group organised test sessions with a range of vendors of HDR monitors in 2024-2025.

The two main goals were:

1. Understanding key characteristics of monitors currently available on the market at a range of price points, and

2. Undertaking a first test using the methodologies in the updated EBU Tech 3325 to see if any monitors currently can attain the HDR grades given in EBU Tech 3320.

The tests show there now is a larger pool of manufacturers creating monitors aimed at all of the required grades and different price points. The EBU hopes that the observations made in this report and its supplements will help make future products even better.
