Wider range of tutorials for Production Technology Seminar 2014

Attendees of this year's Production Technology Seminar at the EBU can choose from the wider range of tutorials than ever before.  While the event has been consistently popular, in recent years this element of the programme has expanded greatly in response to the positive feedback received. There of course be the usual presentations, discussions and demos, but offering seven tutorials across two afternoons provides a valuable opportunity to explore selected topics in much greater detail.

Pick two from seven

The schedule has been arranged so that delegates can select two different tutorials to attend, with three (*marked below) being offered on both days of the event to give increased flexibility. EAch session will be led by one or more experts in their respective fields, with the smaller group sizes providing a chance to be highly interactive.

The tutorial topics for PTS 2014 are:

  • Automated Quality Control Workflows*
  • Immersive Audio Production
  • Archives
  • HDR - HD post for life-like screens *
  • Networks in Production*
  • Demystifying Semantic Web Technologies
  • Automated Metadata Extraction

This year's seminar looks set to be a complete sell-out, with registration going strongly. As there is limited space in the conference room, those planning to attend are recommended to register as soon as possible to avoid disappointment

And demonstrations...

PTS is also an excellent opportunity to discover demos of new technology developments. This year's line-up will include a demo of the impact of Higher Frame Rates on video content, the optical performance of 4k lenses, mood-based search for production music tracks, semantic-web based tools for journalists, and immersive audio delivered to headphones.
