What happens when broadcast meets broadband? Join us Saturday

In today’s fast-paced world, people want to be able to use media at any time, in any place and on multiple platforms.  On Saturday, the EBU and speakers from VRT, NPO, BBC and Akamai will address the crucial question of how broadband networks can complement traditional broadcast distribution technologies.

We’ll look at what motivates audiences to consume via broadband, the challenges for public broadcasters, and what needs to change in broadcast production to ensure the efficient delivery of services at scale to broadband.

Will we be able to deliver the quality of service and content (in various formats) for a competitive price and to the right audiences on the right platforms? Come join us on 13 September 14:30 – 16:00 in the Emerald room at IBC to find out more.

This session will be chaired by: Simon Fell, Director of Technology & Innovation, EBU. More information can be found here .

Speakers include:

  • Dieter Boen, Manager Research & Innovation, VRT
  • Egon Verharen, Manager R&D, NPO
  • Henry Webster, Executive Product Manager, Media Services, BBC
