Next week Belgian public broadcaster VRT will be hosting the EBU Technical Assembly 2009. The event brings together Technical Directors of EBU Members to discuss strategic themes and receive briefings on work performed by EBU TECHNICAL.
Technology Governance
According to VRT's 'CTIO' (Corporate Technology and Innovation Officer) Harry Sorgeloos, this year's assembly will be "packed with ideas and solutions to innovate, pioneer and drive technologies in the media business". The programme includes a look at Technology Governance and which new organisational models and processes work best. The Technical Assembly participants will be guided by presentations and discussions from representatives of A-CROSS, Albertis Telecom, BBC, BT, CISCO, EBU, IABM, NRK, RAI, SR, SRG, VRT and ZDF.
Technical Committee
The Technical Assembly is preceded by a half-day EBU Technical Committee meeting, on the morning of 3rd June. This offers the committee the opportunity to sync & decide on ongoing work prior to meeting with the larger assembly gathering.
