Hybrid broadcast broadband services are becoming more popular. There are a variety of initiatives in European countries aimed at exploiting the functionalities available on a new generation of consumer electronics devices incorporating broadband connections.
Hybrid broadband broadcast is a different environment to traditional IPTV in that the services are generally free-to-air, destined to be consumed on TV sets and set-top-boxes which combine a digital TV tuner and a broadband connection to a viewer’s home network. | |
