EBU Members master 3D-TV production skills

The first EBU Masterclass on 3D production was held in Swiss Television’s TPC Studio 2 this week. The course forms part of EBU’s effort to assist its Members in understanding the 3D developments, including on how to produce ‘good 3D’. World leading 3D expert Phil Streather, who has been responsible for several recent 3D productions, led the participants through theory and praxis.

To accommodate the ‘hands-on’ character of the Masterclass, several manufacturers supported the course with their latest equipment. Two complete high-end 3D systems were installed and a crew of specialists from TPC supported the participants in their shootings, post-production and analysis.

Join the EBU 3D-TV Group

EBU Members have shown a desire to learn about the status of 3D technology and share experiences. To accommodate this, the EBU has set up the EBU 3D-TV Study Group, chaired by Andy Quested (BBC).

Broadcasters are warmly invited to join this cross-industry group to strengthen their understanding of where 3D-TV is (going). For more information, see the 3DTV Group page or contact: Dr Hans Hoffmann (EBU) .
