EBU Members TDA and ENRS, the public television and radio broadcasters in Algeria, beginning of this week held a two-day seminar on digitisation in production and distribution. EBU TECHNICAL Director Lieven Vermaele and a team of radio and technology experts participated in the event.
Choices
As many EBU Members, the national public broadcasters in Algeria are facing several choices and issues in 'going digital'. At the seminar the director-generals Mr Khelladi and Mr Houyou gave some background on where the Algerian organisations are now and what the future may held.
Many topics
Various technology oriented and non-technological topics were addressed during the two days, including: the choice between DAB/DAB+ and DMB, short wave broadcasting, radio over the Internet, radio interference, the impact of digital on personell policies, sports rights, archiving and digital HDTV.
The seminar was held at a most beautiful location.
