This year digital radio is flourishing at the EBU village, thanks to a number of EBU initiatives and the presence of the WorldDMB stand at the Village. A new spring is dawning for radio in Europe, in part resulting from the allocation of plenty of spectrum to digital radio. Visitors to the EBU Village have ample opportunity to see what is technically possible with digital radio and what is currently available on the market. A wide variety of commercial receivers are shown from a simple 30€ receiver to advanced multimedia receivers. Live transmissions featuring the different variants from the DAB family are on air:

Progress
Digital Radio Mondiale, the complementary system for large coverage and local broadcasters is also shown and the Canadian Research Center will demonstrate the power of software radio for both reception and transmission.
