Ultra High Definition Television (UHDTV) promises better picture quality by offering more definition (pixels), more colours, more frames per second and, last but not least: more light levels.

High Dynamic Range (HDR) television will allow us to see more details in dark and bright parts of the image. It also supports an increase of the maximum brightness level that future television sets may offer.

EBU Members who want to explore the topic of UHDTV technologies in more depth are advised to participant in the Strategic Programme BeyondHD.
