The EBU has once again teamed up with Joint Taskforce on Networked Media (JT-NM) partners AMWA, SMPTE, and VSF to produce an updated JT-NM Tested Catalogue of tested and badged IP production equipment. The JT-NM Tested August 2022 Catalogue will be presented at the IBC 2022 IP Showcase pavilion in rooms G102/G103, in which EBU is also a partner.

Knowing that a new piece of equipment conforms well to relevant technology standards is essential for broadcasters updating or extending their facilities. In the world of IP-based production technology, that’s where the ‘JT-NM Tested’ programme comes in.

The updated catalogue of tested IP equipment will include a range of new units submitted by vendors for the ‘JT-NM Tested in-person badging event’ in August 2022.

JT-NM Tested offers documented insight into how vendor equipment conforms to specific SMPTE standards, AMWA NMOS specifications, and EBU cybersecurity recommendations. Vendors who meet the testing criteria have the opportunity to display badges and make public statements about their participation.

One of the main tools used by the experts for testing is the EBU Live IP Software Toolkit (LIST). LIST is an open source solution collaboratively developed by EBU and its Members. It is used by IP production infrastructure architects around the world. In the testing environment it underpins a transparent and repeatable testing protocol under identical conditions for all tested units.
