The traditional EBU Loudness Breakfast at IBC has transformed into a session which looks beyond audio levels. This does not mean loudness is off the agenda, though. During IBC 2015, the EBU Loudness Group (PLOUD) will meet to prepare to publish updated guidelines for Loudness metering and normalisation.  In addition, the Group's chair, Florian Camerer, will be at the EBU stand every day to give one-to-one loudness advice to visitors.

The EBU 'Audio & Radio - Sound Progress' Breakfast

The EBU Breakfast Session this year is called "Audio & Radio – Sound Progress." Besides an update on loudness, it will feature a number of IBC paper presentations. The breakfast takes place on Monday 14th September from 08:00 onwards. Presentations will run from 08:30 - 10:00. Entrance is free, just show up at the Emerald Room at IBC!

Speakers include:

  • Loudness update - Florian Camerer
  • Object Based Audio for Television Production - Steven Silva
  • How AES-67, the new audio-over-IP standard, will bring the convergence of telecommunications, studio audio, and intercom - Greg Shay
  • A Framework for a Context-Based Hybrid-Content Radio - Paolo Casagranda
