The EBU Network Technology Seminar is the annual rendezvous for broadcast experts dealing with IT infrastructure, as well as for IT network and storage specialists that deal with broadcast media content.

This year’s event will be no different. The event will kick off with a keynote session that takes a close look at the last year in networked media: main achievements and future opportunities. Our broadcaster and vendors panel will dive deeper into moving towards common architectures, their experiences and lessons learnt when doing so.

Some key highlights will include: a presentation from our Member SRG SSR and Net Insight who will present their experience at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championship using remote production; and a presentation from BT’s experiences on SDN for media and broadcast and a session on network security.

On Day 2, participants will have the opportunity to join several tutorial sessions on topics of key importance to networked media. These include:

  • Network fundamentals for media broadcasters
  • Broadcast media business for IT
  • Time, Sync and PTP networks
  • UHD in production infrastructure
  • Broadcast quality video transport over IP
  • SIP infrastructure
  • OPUS open source audio codec
