Scope

The Quality Control Implementers Group (QCi) aims to build practical, data-driven, automated QC workflows by adapting and extending the work of the related EBU Quality Control group.

QC workflows based on machine-readable QC profiles, QC reports, and a QC tests catalogue enable interchange between tools and facilities for the inspection and correction of faults. They also allow for custom QC report views appropriate for each workflow user, QC reports updated throughout the workflow with manual results and sign-offs, and QC data that augments archives to minimise re-inspection of content on re-use.

Objectives

To study real QC use cases and workflows, extend the data schemas for QC profiles, QC reports, and the QC tests catalogue, and define QC tests — including updates to existing tests and new tests that enable interoperable implementations.

Our work translates the EBU QC group's specifications into working implementations that users can adopt and adapt.
