Attendance at the Technical Assembly is by invitation only. The following groups are entitled to attend:
 
  • Members of the Technical Assembly, i.e. the Technical Directors of EBU Active Members and Associate Members, or their nominated representative
  • Members of the EBU Technical Committee
  • EBU Technical Liaison Officers (TLOs) are invited to attend the Technical Assembly either to provide support to or as the representative of the Technical Director. The attendance of a TLO at the Technical Assembly must be authorized by the relevant Technical Assembly member.
  • Chairs and Vice-chairs of EBU Strategic Programmes
  • Members of the World Broadcasting Unions (WBU) Technical Committee
  • Special guests by invitation (e.g. former EBU Directors and Technical Committee members, representatives of sister unions, etc.)

Travelling to Austria

Nationals of EU Member States, the European Economic Area or Switzerland are not subject to entry visas and residence permits, regardless of length of stay.

Travel information from the aiport to the city centre

Vienna International Airport is the international airport of Vienna.

There are several ways to get to the city centre:

City Airport Train (CAT)

The City Airport Train (CAT) connects the airport non-stop with the transport hub at Wien Mitte in only 16 minutes, The City Airport Train (CAT) is the quickest connection from the airport to downtown Vienna (Wien Mitte, connections to U3, U4, rapid transit railway) running between the airport and the city every 30 minutes daily from 05.37  to 23.38 and vice versa.

Tickets can be purchased from the CAT website www.cityairporttrain.com, from ticket machines and from tourist information at the airport.

ÖBB Railjet

The Railjets of Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) run non-stop from Vienna Airport to Vienna Main Station and Wien Meidling station. The Railjets carry you quickly and comfortably twice an hour from Vienna Airport to Vienna Main Station (U1) in 15 minutes, or to Wien Meidling station (U6) in about half an hour.

Express train S7

Rapid transit railway line S7 departs the airport every 30 minutes and stops at the centrally located stations of Wien Mitte and Wien Praterstern, with transfers to Vienna's rapid transit railway and subway network. The journey from the airport to Wien Mitte takes 25 minutes, and to Vienna Praterstern about half an hour.

From Praterstern station to the airport: from 4.15 am to 12.45 am, every 30 minutes
From Wien Mitte station to the airport: from 4.19 am to 12.49 am, every 30 minutes

The ORF center is easily accessible by public transport. Although the ORF center is on the outskirts, the parking situation is difficult. It is recommended to take public transport.

Way 1:
U4 to Hietzing, then bus 56A or 56B to ORF-Zentrum. Buses run 4 times an hour, journey c. 8 minutes

Way 2:
Trains 1, 2, 3, and tube U6 to Meidling station, then bus 8A to ORF-Zentrum. Buses run 6 times an hour, journey time c.. 15 minutes

U-Bahn (Subway)

The subway system consists of five lines - U1, U2, U3, U4 and U6. All platforms are equipped with electronic information displays that show the waiting time in addition to the destination.

In addition to the subways, 28 tram lines and 131 bus lines make their daily commutes.

Bus

The bus names are always composed of a digit and the letter A or B (e. g. 4A). The "City Buses", which were developed specifically for the narrow streets in Vienna's city center, also provide fast transportation in the 1st district.

Tickets
The tickets are valid in all trams, buses and subways of the Vienna Transport Authority. Each stamped single ticket is valid up to the destination, including multiple transfers.

WienMobil – the app for all routes in Vienna

WienMobil is a great way for you to travel, whether by public transport, on foot, by bicycle, taxi, or in a carsharing car. The services of various providers are conveniently bundled in the mobility app of Wiener Linien. The app can be downloaded and used free of charge. However, the mobile provider may charge for downloading and use. The app can be downloaded free of charge from the Google Play Store and the App Store, and is available in German and English
