Visa requirements

Nationals of EU Member States, the European Economic Area or Switzerland are not subject to entry visas and residence permits, regardless of length of stay.
If you are not an EU, EEA or Swiss national, as a general rule, a visa is required for entry and must be obtained in your country of residence before your departure.
For the latest information on visa requirements, please refer to the official French government website.

COVID-19 health regulation

Since 14 March 2022, the "vaccine pass" has been lifted in France in all areas where it was previously required (cultrua and leisure venues, commercial catering, professional trade shows, etc.).
The "Travel" certificate is still required at borders.
Updates on the situation in France can be found here.

Vaccination pass for travellers

  • Arriving in France: since 12 February 2022, for travellers vaccinated within the meaning of European regulations, no more tests is required on departure. Proof of a complete vaccination schedule becomes sufficient to arrive in France, regardless of the country of origin, as was the case before the distribution of the Omicron variant.
  • For unvaccinated travellers, the obligation to present a negative test to travel to France remains, but the measures on arrival (test, isolation) are lifted when they come from countries on the "green" list, characterized by a moderate circulation of the virus.
  • When unvaccinated travellers come from a country on the "orange" list, they must continue to present a compelling reason justifying the need for them to come to mainland France and may still be subject to a random test on arrival. Travelers who test positive will have to isolate themselves, in accordance with the recommendations of the Health Insurance.

Passengers may also be requested to complete a passenger locator form before boarding. The forms may differ according to whether your country of origin is a green country/territory or orange country/territory.

Passenger locator form

The EU passenger locator form can be downloaded from https://app.euplf.eu/#/

However, if arriving from an orange country or territory, travellers must complete the Eos electronic form.

If you are travelling by TGV, you are advised to pre-book your train tickets via the SNCF platform, SNCF Connect.

Car rentals

Should you wish to have a car during or after the TA, both Montpellier Sud and Montpellier Saint-Roche have car rental companies located on site.

Assembly venue

The Technical Assembly will take place at the Domaine des Grands Chaix, 34130 Mauguio.

The estate is located at the gates of Montpellier; 2 km from the international airport of Montpellier; 4 km from the Montpellier Sud train station; 14 km from Montpellier Saint-Roch train station. Time travelling by car can vary according to peak hours.

Built in 1881, the Domaine is a former winery which was a model of modernity at the time of the industrial revolution. Surrounded by nearly 200 hectares of vines, its 15,000m² of buildings built around an impressive courtyard consisted of a main house, four farmhouses to house the pickers, large stables, workshops, a forge, barns, as well as a main cellar room surrounded by two side cellars. The cellars housed up to 62 oak casks for a total capacity of more than 20,000 hectoliters of wine. The dominant grape varieties were then Aragon, Petit Bouschet, Alicante Bouschet and Carignagne.

The vines were uprooted by the family in 1983, when the consumption of Table Wine was in crisis, to convert to large cereal crops. In 2015, the descendants of the founder decided to develop the old cellars, thus continuing to bring the Domaine to life in a different way.

Crime and policing

France is a safe country to visit, but it helps to be in the know on common issues to avoid trouble.

Like in most cities with tourists, theft is a common crime so always keep an eye on your belongings and do not leave them unattended. Take sensible precautions against street and car crime. Don’t keep your passport, credit cards and other valuables in the same place; use the inside compartments in bags where possible. Carry your bag across your body rather than on your shoulder.

Pickpockets can work in gangs: one to distract you while the other one goes into your bag. Keep your belongings close to you in restaurants and bars. Don’t be distracted around tourist attractions and cash points.
