The adoption of cloud services by media organizations is growing enormously.
Many media organizations have a sustainability or net zero strategy in place.
This document therefore recommends that sustainability requirements be added to the procurement documents and processes for cloud services:
a) Sustainability factors should be considered and included from the outset.
b) Sustainability requirements should have a weighting factor in the procurement decision.
c) Sustainability should be continuously assessed throughout the duration of the cloud services contract.
As background, this recommendation contains a detailed discussion of the issues concerning the procurement of cloud services.
