With less than a week to go, the EBU is nearly ready for this year’s IBC in Amsterdam, 12-16 September.  Last week we happily shipped our equipment and prepared the final touches on our demonstrations and in a few days’ time, we will be setting up our stand for you to enjoy.

During this year’s show, we have a number of exciting demonstrations to share with you. In particular, you will find the following on display at our stand 10.F20: EBU.IO (a platform which facilitates best practice in software development); Networked studio (a demonstration of how live production can be done using today’s commodity off-the-shelf infrastructure); High dynamic range (a comparison of SDR and HDR content); FIMS test and EBU Core software (different test platforms supporting FIMS 1.1 specifications); and cross-platform authentication.

You’ll also be able to see the RAI virtual 3D microphone on display and a live/on demand playout, using DVB DASH HEVC to a connected TV and tablet.  If you’re interested in sport, why not come and see our live 4K feed from the Misano Moto GP races and recent 4K content from the FIFA World Cup 2014 at our Eurovision demo? The feed will be on display Friday through Sunday at the EBU stand.

Other events happening around IBC that may be of interest to you include the following. On Thursday, our Director, Simon Fell, will speak at the Great Spectrum Debate and our Director General, Ingrid Deltenre, will help prepare us for the future during the Leader’s Summit .

Our very own, Frans de Jong, will participate in the session “ Assistive technologies – Access to new media for all ” on Friday and on Saturday, there will be an EBU Session “ When broadcast meets broadband ”. At the stand, there will be a cross-platform authentication meet-up from 4-5pm on Saturday with an open-source meet-up to follow from 5-6pm (including lightning talks from various experts).

Additional information on these events (and more!) will come soon.
