The EBU Group on Content Analysis-based Automatic Information extraction, P/SCAIE, has completed a thorough survey on requirements for automated information extraction tools in media production. The result of this work was published as a Request for Technology (RFT). The request is still open.
Who can respond?
Academic as well as industrial laboratories are encouraged to respond to the call, by providing information on how their technologies could solve the problems illustrated in the RFT. The objective is to foster the definition and realisation of a framework for making metadata generation cheaper.
The P/SCAIE Group is currently studying an EBU MPEG7 profile for the exchange of results.
