The EBU is running a workshop (6-8 March) aiming to give participants a firm grasp of software-based live production workflows. It is open to employees of EBU Member organizations, free of charge, and kindly hosted by media organization VRT at its premises in Brussels.

Software-based infrastructures promise many benefits in terms of flexibility and up-front investment. But they don’t come without challenges and require know-how.

This workshop focuses on existing technologies, such as COTS infrastructure, private and hybrid clouds, virtualization, containers, and applications, and how they can be leveraged to create efficient, maintainable media production workflow across multiple suppliers.

Attendees of the workshop will learn from industry experts both from media organizations and technology providers, discuss the state of the available technologies, and give feedback on steps the industry should take to further mature them.

EBU Members will be giving presentations on real-world deployments, and selected vendors will be introducing their offerings and roadmaps.

Visit the workshop’s webpage to find out more and to sign up.
