As media companies increasingly rely on (in-house) software development, there is a growing need to share best practice and learn from peers working in the same domain. This is why the EBU is organizing its 4th annual EBU Developer Conference (EBU DevCon). The two-day event will include presentations, interactive sessions and at least one hands-on workshop.
Personalization & virtualisation
Two of the three main themes for DevCon 2016 are already known: Big Data (personalization) and Docker (virtualization). The third theme is left open to be decided based on input from the industry.
Media companies are invited to propose presentations for DevCon 2016 until 30 June 2016, simply by sending an e-mail to: devcon@ebu.ch
Devrooms connected
DevCon 2016 will also see the birth of a new way to connect with EBU Members. Instead of sending complete teams to Geneva, it will be possible for broadcasters to send two representatives and connect the rest of the team to Geneva via a livestream.
EBU DevCon will be held 01-02 Nov 2016 at the EBU in Geneva.
