FORECAST is the EBU's annual seminar dealing with broadcast technologies, spectrum management and related topics. It attracts more than 100 delegates each year, bringing together broadcasters, network operators, regulators, policymakers, industry stakeholders and researchers.

This year's event will be a unique opportunity to consolidate positions before WRC-15 and to discuss the future of broadcasting distribution. The event will kick off with keynote speeches from Jonathan Thompson (Digital UK) and Gilles Brégant (RSPG Chair, ANFR) on the importance of DTT as a cornerstone of the media landscape.

In the afternoon of Day 1, Lis Grete Moller (DR) will lead a panel of experts in a discussion: “Are we heading in the right direction?” The way we are consuming media is changing. While linear TV in large screens remains the star, secondary TV sets,  and tablets are not vying for our attention. The panel will discuss how we address industry trends from the broadcasters points of view but also from the media and spectrum regulation point of view.

Other key topics to be discussed include: changes in spectrum allocations, the future use of the 700 MHz band, a long-term perspective on media distribution, innovative spectrum usage and more.
