Attendance at the Technical Assembly is by invitation only. The following groups are entitled to attend:
 
  • Members of the Technical Assembly, i.e. the Technical Directors of EBU Active Members and Associate Members, or their nominated representative
  • Members of the EBU Technical Committee
  • EBU Technical Liaison Officers (TLOs) are invited to attend the Technical Assembly either to provide support to or as the representative of the Technical Director. The attendance of a TLO at the Technical Assembly must be authorized by the relevant Technical Assembly member.
  • Chairs and Vice-chairs of EBU Strategic Programmes
  • Members of the World Broadcasting Unions (WBU) Technical Committee
  • Special guests by invitation (e.g. former EBU Directors and Technical Committee members, representatives of sister unions, etc.)

Cancellation Policy: No penalty up to 5 days prior to arrival. After this, the full stay will be charged.

 

Visitors from EU countries, the UK, US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand do not need a visa to visit Croatia. Vistors from EU countries may enter Croatia using either their national identity cards (where available) or passport.

Croatia is not part of the Schengen Zone. Holders of a valid dual or multiple entry Schengen visa are allowed to enter, stay and transit through Croatia without the need for an additional visa (for tourist purposes). Travellers holding a dual entry Schengen visa must have one unused entry if travelling to Croatia.

For visa requirements concerning citizens of all other countries, please visit the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, where there is also a list of embassies.

The online process to apply for a visa can be started at crovisa.mvep.hr, However, the application form needs to be printed off and physically submitted at an Embassy/Consulate or visa centre.

International Airports

The key airports in Croatia are Zagreb, Dubrovnik and Split. During the summer, many international airlines and low-cost airlines offer direct flights to Dubrovnik or to Zagreb for a connecting flight to Dubrovnik.

Dubrovnik airport is located 6 kilometres from Cavtat. Domestic and International Arrivals are in Terminal “B”. Departures are from Terminal “C”.

Dubrovnik Airport transfers

A taxi stand is located next to Terminal B and taxi service information and fares are published at the terminal’s Taxi Information Counter. Taxi drivers are obliged to issue receipts on request of a passenger.

The ten minute taxi ride costs about 100 HRK (ca.14 EUR).

Taxis are available during airport opening hours. Outside these times a taxi can be ordered by calling 020 640 100.

 

CONFERENCE VENUE

The Technical Assembly takes place at Hotel Croatia in Cavtat. The town of Cavtat is on the coast and close to Dubrovnik.

The standard dress code during the working day is business to business casual. For the evening social programmes, business or busines casual. For the excursion, delegates should wear comfortable attire.

WEATHER

The Croatian cost enjoys a Mediteranean climate with hot, dry summers. In June, the average temperature is 22°C.

CURRENCY

Though Croatia is part of the European Union, at present the currency remains the Kuna (HRK; kn) and not the Euro. The Kuna is divided into 100 lipas.

The Kuna comes in dominations of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500 and 1,000 as notes and 1, 2, 5 and 25 as coins.

100 HRK = ca.13 EUR.

ATMs are available in all resorts, towns and cities in Croatia and are accepted in larger shops and restaurants. The smaller towns, restaurants and private accommodation may be less likely to accept cards..
