Frank Herrmann (Panasonic)

              

Frank- a baby boomer - studied communication technologies at the Technical University of Braunschweig (Prof. Schönfelder) and has been involved in broadcast technology developments from the start of his career.

 

He entered DAB developments in 1994 and chaired the WorldDMB Technical Committee from 2004 to 2007 when new technologies like DMB and DAB+ have been standardized.

 

In 2006/2007 he moved over to the DVB Project and conducted a DVB-T2 sub-group quite soon. In 2009 he became chairman of the DVB-TM-H group. This group has developed the DVB-T2-lite profile for the T2 standard and is currently developing the DVB-NGH standard also consisting of a MIMO and a hybrid (terrestrial/satellite) profile. At the same time Frank is project leader for digital television projects at the Panasonic R&D Center Germany located close to Frankfurt.
