Jon Piesing (Philips)

            

Jon Piesing played a major role facilitating the convergence of the original French and German initiatives which together become HbbTV.

He is now vice-chair of the HbbTV Consortium and chairs the specification working group. Jon has been a leading figure in the development of specifications for integration of TV and interactivity for more than ten years. This has included being the chairman of groups in DAVIC, DVB, the Open IPTV Forum and the UK DTG in addition to contributing to work in CableLabs, CEA and ATSC in the US.

Jon has held senior positions in Philips Applied Technologies and Philips Research for a number of years. In addition to specification development, other activities for Philips have included participation in UK and EU R&D projects and responsibility for the development, marketing and sales of several hundred prototype MHP set-top boxes.
