What – An update of the latest preparations for the World Radiocommunications Conference that will take place in November in Dubai, the WRC-23, including the outcome of the CPM23-2 and current positions of Region 1 countries, with a focus on the future use of the UHF band.
Why – The coming months will be crucial as countries and regional organisations will finalise their positions to be defended at the WRC-23. EBU Members need to defend the spectrum they currently depend on for Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) broadcasting and wireless microphones.
How – EBU Members need to lobby their national regulators and governments in order to preserve existing DTT and PMSE use and ongoing innovation (e.g. 5G Broadcast).
