Timed Text Subtitles over RTP

In this public webinar, James Sandford (BBC) introduced IETF RFC 8759 RTP Payload for Timed Text Markup Language (TTML).

RFC 8759 was created to allow for the standardized transport of W3C Timed Text Subtitles over RTP, a technology at the heart of SMPTE 2110, which can be seen as the "IP replacement of SDI video infrastructures". James was accompanied by Nigel Megitt (BBC), who co-chairs the Timed Text groups in both the EBU and W3C. He set the scene with an industry overview, explaining the gap this technology aims to fill.
