At NAB 2011 there were several new 3D-TV cameras on shown. Panasonic also have a 3D ‘prosumer’ camera first seen at NAB in 2010, and a consumer 3D-TV camera first seen at the IFA in September 2010. Sony also has a prosumer 3D-TV and a professional camera. The regular 3D camera companies such as 3ality showed rigs on which can be mounted at right angles two 2D cameras, to create a 3D camera.
| | The JVC 3D camera New 3D-TV models on show at this year’s NAB included from JVC a prosumer upgraded version of a 3D consumer camera launched very recently. The camera has an auto stereoscopic (no glasses needed) viewfinder for composition, which seemed very helpful in 3D shot composition. |
Head mounted 3D camera Possibly the cutest 3D-TV camera on show was the miniature model from GoPro. This can be ‘head mounted’ and used for action sports etc. It has a waterproof housing, and thus can be used for underwater 3D-TV shooting. Should eventually Boxers wear such cameras to give us the full feeling of the fight? | | |
