Scope
Recommenders is a community of practice for everyone working on automated content recommendations and personalisation in public service media organisations. We bring together practitioners from data science, data engineering, and product management to share ideas, discuss problems and solutions, and learn from peers across PSM. Our work is practical and hands-on: we run regular calls, organise meetups, and set challenges for data scientists to build recommender systems on shared datasets and compare results. If you work on recommendations or personalisation at a PSM organisation, you'll find something useful here.
Objectives
We aim to build a strong network of PSM recommendation practitioners, share knowledge openly across organisations, and raise the quality and responsibility of recommendation systems in public service media. We create opportunities for Members to discuss common challenges — such as balancing personalisation with editorial values — and to develop shared approaches where individual solutions are less effective than collective ones.
