DSLR Summer Shoot

Digital Single-Lens Reflex (DSLR) cameras have received a lot of praise recently as cost-efficient means to shoot high-quality HD video content. But what exactly are the application areas of such cameras in broadcasting? What do professional users think of their pros and cons?

Discover it for yourself
Seasoned broadcast cameraman Tom Poederbach guided the participants through DSLR shooting and editing with practical tips & tricks. Afterwards the participants evaluated the material and discussed the shooting practicalities.

Two-day, packed programme
The shootings took place at daylight in the vicinity of the EBU headquarters and at night, to allow evaluation under different light conditions. The nightshoot took place in the beautiful town of Yvoire (France), which celebrated a national festivity that day. The programme was packed, but allowed for sharing experiences with participating colleagues in a relaxed setting.
