Abstract

Dutch public TV online service

Since starting Uitzending Gemist, NPO's catch up TV service, 7 years ago, it has grown into a multiplatform service including availability on connected TVs and HbbTV. Besides audio and video on demand NPO has always offered linear services online for both radio and TV. This presentation shows examples and discusses issues such as rights management, scalability in content delivery, multiplatform support, hybrid services for both radio and TV, usage analyses and new services such as visual radio.
