IP-based media production facilities: Finding the needle in the NMOS haystack

The move to IP allows broadcasters to be more ambitious with their facilities, and have more devices, more media flows and more dynamic operation. AMWA NMOS IS-04 and IS-05 provide a common way of discovering and connecting devices but there remains the challenge of finding the correct device, sender or receiver – what do all those unique identifiers really mean?

EBU and BBC are champions for an IBC Innovation Accelerator project looking at this problem and how two new NMOS specifications – BCP-002-02 and IS-13 – can help.

In this webinar, we will brief EBU members on the project and what is happening in AMWA . Afterwards, we will ask those members, who are already running an IP-based media production facility or are experimenting with this technology, to share their experiences with the topic and to provide suggestions if the newly developed documents address the issue fully or if they still see gaps to be addressed. We strive for a better IP-based media production future for everyone!
