NAB 2013


The NAB exhibition and conference is the world's largest electronic media media event covering filmed entertainment and the development, management and delivery of content across all mediums. With more than 90,000 attendees from 151 countries, NAB is an important marketplace for digital media and entertainment.

EBU at NAB Conference

EBU Director of Technology & Innovation Lieven Vermaele will join an NAB Super Session title "Mapping the Future of Broadcast Television" (Tuesday 9 April, 10:30).

Broadcast television is evolving as a result of advanced technology and changing consumer expectations. Multiple platforms and personal media devices along with increasing competition in the video market are having an impact the way television content is created, managed and distributed.  This session will explore the future of broadcast television from the perspective of the broadcaster, the consumer, and organizations working to develop future global television technical standards.

Also at NAB, during the Broadcast Engineering Conference, EBU expert Jean-Pierre Evain will join Brad Gilmer of the Advanced Media Workflow Association for a presntation on FIMS: "A Framework for Interoperable Services in Media Production: What the Market Wants!" (Tuesday 9 April, 14:00). For those who want to learn more about FIMS can also visit the exhibition booth at N1434.
