Today, modern IT and file-based TV production is impossible without using the Material Exchange File format, a standardised way of exchanging files between systems such as Non-linear Editors, Camcorders, Archives and so forth, and many people say it is going to be the "video tape recorder" of the future. One of EBU's responses was to organise a special course on the details of this file format. The MasterClass was immediately sold out. So, watch out for the announcements on the EBU website for the next Masterclasses on MXF in 2010.
