It addresses the urgent need to accelerate market adoption of an open discovery and connection protocol (NMOS) for the success of early IP-based facilities.
What is acutely concerning the TC is feedback from Members involved with IP-based infrastructure projects that;
• They are suffering from the lack of adoption and maturity of implementation of an open discovery and connection protocol, which is identified as a minimum requirement for the viability of their projects, thereby putting these projects at risk, and;
• Their managements’ confidence in IP-based technology is being eroded by the effects of this lack of adoption and maturity of implementation by vendors.
