ETSI and EBU organize workshop on Hybrid Broadcast Broadband
05 August 2009 |
|---|
EBU and ETSI will be holding a joint half-day workshop on 9 September 2009 in Amsterdam on Hybrid Broadcast Broadband (HBB). The workshop is intended to provide an update of the status of this technology of convergence.
Topics addressed
The workshop will begin with an overview of the current ETSI and EBU activities, the work being done by DVB and by the Open IPTV Forum in HBB, and the work item on HBB being considered now by the ETSI JTC Broadcast will be outlined. This will be followed by an examination of HBB in the two major European Interactive TV environments, MHEG5 and MHP. In turn there will be presentations about how HBB is seen by consumer electronic manufacturers, broadcasters, network operators, and ISPs.

Overview
The morning should provide a good overview for those who need to follow this work - and to appreciate the serious discussions on HBB that will take place at IBC which follows the workshop. IBC begins on 10 September 2009, the day following the workshop.
