'Forecast 2009' the Annual Update for EBU Members has drawn 81 participants from twenty countries ranging from as far as South Africa to enjoy a series of presentations on the hottest of broadcasting topics from the experts, and to participate in the interactive workshops sessions to 'have their say' .

Gino Alberico (RAI) and Nigel Laflin (BBC), the chairmen of the Delivery Technology Management Committee (DMC) and Spectrum Management Committee (SMC) gave their annual overviews of the myriad of topics being tackled by the Project Groups. Presentation sessions on HDTV and beyond, the Synergies between Broadcast & Broadband, the ongoing Digitisation of TV & Radio, Spectrum Regulation & the Digital Dividend, finishing up with Issues for the Future of Terrestrial Broadcasting, stimulated wide ranging information sharing in the pro-active workshop sessions, and in the networking opportunities in the break periods and the evening buffet .
