The EBU is the collective organization of Europe’s 75 national broadcasters. The EBU's Technology & Innovation Department, together with EBU Members, represents a unique and influential network in the media world.

1. DEVELOP AND GUIDE

 

The EBU monitors, analyses and assesses technological developments. We deliver recommendations and information documents on technological developments. We develop strategic and impact analyses and we offer Members advice, guidance and consulting services.

 

 

2. PROMOTE AND REPRESENT

 

The EBU promotes a media world based on open standards, with interoperability across the value chain and neutral access to all services on all significant platforms. We represent our Members’ requirements, and advocate the EBU position in standardisation, industrial and regulatory organisations.

 

 

3. CONNECT AND SHARE

 

The EBU offers excellent networking opportunities through its activities (working groups, workshops, seminars) and we facilitate contacts and knowledge sharing, through our staff and online tools. We enable the sharing of best practices, expertise and experiences.

 

 

4. DRIVE AND HARMONIZE

 

The EBU drives and harmonises media technology and innovation for the benefit of our Members. The range of topics we cover is very wide and goes from archives and data storage technology to consumer equipment and media applications. From High Definition Television to mobile media and from radio to metadata.
