EBU Tech 3335 Measurements of TV cameras for Characterising & Setting 13 Apr 2012

Measurement procedures for assessing the quality of video cameras used in TV production that also aid in establishing the best settings for a camera's use in a variety of programme types. Tech Review 2012 Feasibility of building an All-IP Network - the BBC NGN project 03 Apr 2012

The BBC recently carried out a Next Generation Network (NGN) pilot to examine the feasibility of providing a single IP network for both broadcast and enterprise traffic. The pilot was a success and a good starting point but limitations of the control system as well as various hardware problems were identified that need to be solved.

EBU R 135 Production & Exchange Formats for 3DTV Programmes 28 Mar 2012

This recommendation gives technical aid to broadcasters who intend to use 2D HDTV infrastructures to produce 3DTV programmes. Another EBU document on 3DTV production guidelines that will deal with issues such as the grammar of 3DTV scene production (depth range, permissible parallax, convergence etc.) will also be published. EBU Tech 3350 EBU-TT Part 1 - Subtitle format definition 17 Jan 2012

This is the specification of an XML based archiving and interchange format for EBU STL subtitles specified in EBU Tech 3264. The transport of subtitles inside and outside MXF files is specified in EBU R133. An example XML schema is available here. This is version 0.9 of the interchange format, for comment.

EBU BPN 100 Report on The Future of Terrestrial Broadcasting 01 Dec 2011

The EBU Technical Committee decided in October 2011 that BPN 100 should be made available to the public. This was done by publishing the report as EBU Technical Report 013. In November 2011 the report needed revision (explained in TR013) and it was decided to withdraw BPN 100 to simplify the editorial process. See EBU TR013. The link to BPN 100 is a placeholder.

The next ITU World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC-12) will be held from 23 January to 17 February 2012 in Geneva.
